Marantz CP430 cassette field recorder turned into a dub delay!

Patch:

1 - output of lowpass gated synth sound into ch. 1 of manhattan analog mixer.
2 - output of mixer multed to input of tape recorder, and audio interface for recording/ monitoring
3 - output of tape recorder into ch. 2 (of same mixer that sent to it originally, thereby creating a feedback loop)

Use the input gain on the tape recorder and the channel volume of the tape return to manipulate feedback. sweet!

It can get really grungy, but actually sounds pretty nice - and "brick walls" due to the tape saturation, so the levels don't go mad. It sounds different again once the Limiter is engaged.

you get a nice "swell" in between the synth notes, where the delay rises up and is then pulled back down again - almost like a side-chained compressor
