External Audio Wavefolding (guitar)

from Doepfer a137-1 Wave Multiplier by Matttech Modular Demos

/

about

Doepfer a137-1 used to process external audio - in this case, a guitar loop.

A lot of the time the effect of running audio through a wavefolder is simply varying degrees of distortion. However, careful tweaking of the various controls (of which there are a LOT on the a137-1!) can produce strange gated, tremolo and glitchy results. You can also produce modulated distortion to add rhythmic interest to the audio source.

Various manual tweaking undertaken, along with modulation into the various CV inputs to produce a number of loops.

Audio outputted via Expert Sleepers ES3.
