about
Whilst looking through some half-finished tracks I discovered these short recordings of the WMD Geiger Counter, in conjunction with filtering (the equally gnarly Harvestman Polivoks clone!).
In this recording you can hear the non-Geigered signal up until 00.46. The Livewire AFG is the sound source, and it goes through the Geiger Counter first, before proceeding on to the Polivoks filter.
The Geiger Counter's wavetables are modulated - I was under the impression that was the only parameter on the Geiger Counter that was modulated, but I didn't keep notes as this was originally intended for use in a track. At points it does sound like the sample rate and/ or bit depth may have been modulated as well, as there is a heavily-aliased sweep happening. Details are sketchy at best, but it does at least give you a general vibe of the Geiger's character, and how it may be used in conjunction with filtering.
The 4ms PEG was used as an additional modulation source.
