AFG in LFO Mode (Harmonic Animation)

about

Well, an interesting time was had trying out the AFG's Harmonic Animation section while it's being used as an LFO.

The patch was as follows:

1 - took the Animated Pulses output of the AFG into the Exp Fm input of a z3000 osc (via a VCA that opens and closes slowly, controlled by a Maths env.....so that the amount of pitch modulation increases and decreases in a repeating cycle)
2 - took the saw output of the z3000 into the Toppobrillo Multifilter (in Lowpass mode)
3 - Multifilter out to audio interface
4 - used a slow Vulcan Modulator sine wave (in time with the Maths env) to control the following: two of the AFG's Harmonic Animation inputs - +PWM CV and -PPM CV)
5 - used the same sine wave LFO to modulate the pitch of the AFG via its Exp FM input (so the Animated Pulses-based LFO that controls the z3000s pitch speeds up and slows down)
6 - took the square wave of the z3000 into the a115 audio divider, using a mix of the bottom two octaves/ divisions, and sent its output into the cutoff CV input of the Toppobrillo Multifilter. This routing goes via a 2nd VCA, whose level is controlled by a 2nd Maths envelope, triggered from the first envelope's End Of Rise (EOR) output.
7 - took the Alien Saws output of the AFG into CV Tools, inverted it, and used it to modulate the Gain of the Multifilter.
8 - used a gate from Silent Way, via an ES3 module, to reset the Vulcan and first Maths envelope every couple of bars

Jam Details: I gradually introduced the Fm of the z3000 by the AFG, then brought in the modulation of the Animated Pulses/ Alien Saws. After this I brought in the FM of the AFG itself, followed by the cutoff modulation of the multifilter, and finally its Gain modulation.

Then - obviously - started speeding things up, slowing them down, turning attenuators up and down, inverting things in CV Tools, messing with filter cutoff/ gain/ resonance, playing with main pitch of AFG and z3000 so they both go right into high audio range.

All good fun!
