about

The second of two sets of recordings, comparing the Lowpass modes of various filters (all Eurorack, apart from the Vermona Retroverb Lancet's filter).

Here's the 8 filters again - this time undergoing some general "tweaking"

They are set to the same modes as the previous example - Lowpass, 24db (4 pole) if possible

I have tried to show off their various characteristics, using different gain settings, modulation and resonance throughout...but keeping to a general "pattern" throughout each jam

Some recordings go on longer than others, as there is a wider palette of tones to wring out, sometimes due to the odd "extra" feature (eg: the LM4250's "brute" and "brite" modes; the Pittsburgh's "OSC" mode; Retroverb Lancet's "drive", "gain" and "balls"). However, i have NOT modulated the resonance or gain on any of those that have that as an option.

In each recording there is:

1 - Manual cutoff modulation with increasing resonance
2 - Sequenced filter cutoff (to same sequence as osc's riff)
3 - Introduction of filter envelope on each note
4 - Input gain manipulation
5 - Filter self-oscillation with audio input turned down to zero, with FM from 2nd osc (modulated by a random voltage source)
6 - As above, but with audio input turned back up again
7 - Any other miscellaneous, module-specific quirks and features that affect the Lowpass mode on each filter
